What Is the Virtual Spanish Dual-Language Immersion Program?

Miami-Dade Online's Spanish Dual-Language Immersion Program gives Kindergarten and 1st Grade students the opportunity to develop full literacy in both English and Spanish from the very beginning.

Using a proven 50:50 model, students spend half their school day learning in English and half in Spanish. Core subjects like ELA and Math are taught in both languages, while Science and Social Studies are taught primarily in Spanish.

Research shows that early bilingual education builds cognitive flexibility, cultural awareness, stronger problem-solving skills, and higher long-term academic achievement.
